Navajo indians are famous for their woven rugs. This project was just perfect after our cowboy outlaws. We used burlap and yard to sew a pattern. This was the first sewing experience for most of my students. They caught on fast. We then glued our mini rugs on colored paper. The next day, we created stamps and printed additional designs. I really enjoyed teaching the kids how to sew. They were all very proud of their work.
Project idea was from Deep Space Sparkle.
