The older classes are doing a more complicated version of symmetrical insects. They chose an insect or parts of an insect from a worksheet. They then drew half of the bug on one side of their paper. I had pre-measured and marked the center of their paper. After one side was drawn, they traced their half bug on tracing paper. This half was then flipped over and traced on the blank side of the paper. The lead from the pencil lines transferred to the paper, making a perfectly symmetrical insect. We then went over all the lines with an extra fine tip Sharpie and colored with marker and/or colored pencil. Some of these got very detailed and will require more time to finish. I have one finished and mounted on black paper to share. I will post the rest of the finished pieces next week.
