This week my K-2nd graders painted sailboats. This project was a lesson on perspective, how objects appear smaller and move closer to the horizon line as they recede in space. We also read about Winslow Homer and looked at some of his seascapes for inspiration.
We drew our sailboats with black oil pastel and painted them with puck tempera. They came up with the details for their seascapes, making them each so unique.
Thank you to Patty at DSS for the inspiration for this lesson.
