After completing our Indian elephants in the World Traveler workshop, we did a quick Indian twirling puppet project.  The main shapes were printed on card stock.  I let students create whatever character they wanted with markers.  We then assembled the puppets with brads and a straw.  This was quick and easy.  They all had fun playing with them too. : )
