This week we finished our Favorite Memory paintings. They included so many details to really make their story clear. After painting with watercolor, we used an extra fine tip Sharpie to bring out the details. They all turned out wonderful. Unfortunately, I was so involved in class on some days, I forgot to take pictures!
Since we already had watercolors out, those who finished early did a watercolor/oil resist flower project. I brought in flowers for inspiration. Students drew their flowers in oil pastel and then painted them in watercolor. Students loved the effect of painting a bright or dark color over a lighter oil pastel. This was a great, short project to end the session with.
