This week two of my classes finished their chameleon collage project. To begin this project, we read The Mixed-Up Chameleon by Eric Carle. We then created painted papers, one in cool greens and one in warm colors. The next step was creating our rainbow backgrounds. We used my favorite new art supply, Stabilo Woodies to create our rainbows. These colored pencils go on very smooth and turn into paint when water is added. Everyone loved using these! Students then drew, cut, and assembled their chameleons. Adding details, like rocks, grass, flowers, etc… really made these unique And, of course, they added a fly for the hungry chameleon to eat!
