Art Classes for Kids in Tri-Cities, WA

Corbie Arts classes run in six week sessions.  Each class meets once a week for one hour.  The projects done in class will focus on particular skills and elements of art.  Most projects begin with drawing – directed drawing, drawing from life, or drawing from imagination.  A variety of materials and techniques are used in each session: tempera, watercolor, collage, oil pastel, chalk pastel, printmaking, etc…  Each session will also include a variety of subject matter, landscapes, figures, animals, architecture, etc…Many projects also incorporate learning across other subjects such as history, literature, geography, and science.  While each class is focused on a particular project, I encourage students to express themselves creatively, within the parameters of the project.  Everyone’s finished project is unique.

I truly believe there are no mistakes in art.  I tell my students we call mistakes “happy accidents.”  While I encourage students to do their best, my priority is to instill confidence.  If they feel confident about their abilities, they will continue to enjoy art, keep trying, and their skills will improve.

Wednesday 4:00-5:00 – Intermediate/Advanced – Currently not available

Thursday 4:45-5:45 Beginner/Intermediate

All classes are held at Richland Community Center, 500 Amon Park Drive, Richland.  Tuition is $125 for a six week session.  All materials are included.

          I added you. Due to snow days, I had to push back this session. You could sign up for the rest of the four classes of this session (pro-rated tuition). I just updated the website with the new dates. Otherwise, registration will open in a few weeks for the session that starts April 17th/18th.

  2. I am interested in an art class for my 7 year old. I was hoping for one of the 5 week sessions, but do not see any for the summer months. When will you be posting the schedule for fall programming? I want to make sure we get her signed up for it! Thanks!

  4. I’m interested in what you offer for 13 year olds. I have a daughter who is very artistic and would love to get her some classes to keep her learning and growing in her skills. Thanks!
