One of my sweet students has been asking me all year to do a bird project.  He loves birds and loves to draw them.  I found a calendar with gorgeous bird photos for inspiration.  I cut these out and laminated them so that each student would have their own photo to work from.  I love the look of chalk pastel on black paper and thought it would highlight the bright colors of the birds.  Most of the students drew from their photograph.  A few of the younger ones needed a little guided directed drawing.
